Sadness: Victoria Stafford

There are some days when you wish that there wasn’t the news. Days when you just wish you didn’t have to know.

Victoria Stafford was murdered.

Her alleged killers were apprehended today – one presumably being the 18 year old woman who lead her away from the school. The other being a young man in his twenties.

Victoria’s little body has not yet been found. Apparently she was dead since the day they first kidnapped her.

Ah, hell.

  1. I don’t know what to say, I really don’t.
This doesn’t only shake my confidence in humanity but reconfirms my suspicion that there is no purpose at all.

    Rest in Peace Little Victoria.

    1. Kinzi, I couldn’t stop crying when I heard the news. It just tore at my heart. Apparently her father refuses to believe she is dead. What hell to have to endure.

  2. The news of her death is very sad indeed. I was suprised how little coverage her disappearance received in the US relative to that of murdered Sara Cantu.

    1. I didn’t know about Sara Cantu, MCA. I’m sorry to hear another girl is missing. They did feature Victoria’s disappearance on America’s Most Wanted but beyond that, I didn’t pay much attention to the coverage in the US.

  3. I am also surprised how little coverage this has received, I am a friend of a friend of a friend of the family and noticed her MSN post “R.I.P. Tori” and asked her about it then looked up more information. Its been 6 weeks and this is the first I’ve heard of it. I think nothing less than torture is good enough for those involved. Scary thing is, they look so ‘normal’ its scary and really makes you look at those around you more. R.I.P. little Victoria.

    1. I found the coverage to be sparse too, Bev. It seems it was known for some time that she was already dead but maybe that is conjecture on my part. It is scary that these monsters appear so normal – how can you truly know about anyone? I think that is the frightening part in so many of these cases…Paul Bernardo for instance…everyone thought he was a kind, quiet, hard working guy – little did they know. That is why one never stops worrying when one is a parent but being more aware and vigilant is definitely wise.

  4. Sorry I miss typed. It was 8-year-old Sandra Cantu who was abducted and murdered in Tracy, California by the mother of her best friend earlier this year.

  5. I wanted to post about it the day of, but I just got my internet connection back today. I can’t describe how sad I was waking up to the news. I even began to give false hopes to myself, thinking, they will find her alive, they just arrested the kidnappers.

I hope the killers get the toughest of sentences for their horrific crime. I still can’t understand how someone can bring themselves to such levels.
