What I’m Thinking About

Given human nature, it’s a stretch even to dream of such a world, but why not hope?

Imagine – John Lennon

Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

  1. I’m pretty sure that, even in a world like the one John Lennon imagined, some human beings would manage to find motives to be aggressive and violent with others. Fortunately, there’ll always be exceptions, there’ll always be wonderful human beings.

    1. True. Violence seems ingrained in our nature. I wonder if we rid ourselves of these key elements that have caused aggression and war over the years, what would we fight about? Perhaps, though, peaceful folks would have the upper-hand for once in this imagined world and violent thoughts or activities would quelled before they made even a ripple…hmmm…
