ROW Mid-week Check-in: Divergent

ROW80LogocopyI have been very busy this past week but it has nothing much to do with my writing goals. Next Tuesday I start my new job so I’ve been reading up on company products, meal planning, grocery shopping, making freezer meals, tidying, and trying to see a few friends before the end of the week. Also, mentally, I’ve been preparing myself for a new level of energy and also letting go of some of the routines I’ve come to enjoy being at home. One friend and I have been having coffee together every week for the past 6 years. I’ll miss that but I know we’ll find new routines which may turn out to be better than the old. Who knows?

I’ve allowed myself to diverge from my writing goal path to focus on more pressing goals. I do hope to meander back again as soon as I find a sure footing in my new weekly routine. 🙂

Until next time…enjoy whatever path you’re following right now.

  1. You’re taking care of more important things, for sure. Life and taking care of yourself should come before writing. Starving/unkempt artists should be the stuff of fiction only. I wish you the best at your new job and hope you find a good routine that works for you and writing as you settle into your new rhythm of life.

  2. I too wish you the best in your new job and also hope that those outstanding organizational skills you demo here help you to keep all in balance (including writing). Even journal or riff-writing may help you stay connected to writing, which always seemed my anchor when I was working full-time. All the best for a good week ahead.

    1. Thanks, Beth. Your suggestions of a journal is a good one. I used to be very dedicated to my writing journal but it has kind of been neglected as of late. I may have to pick it up again. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend.
